An elementary aged child was taken to the hospital after receiving a paddling from a Dodson Branch Elementary School teacher, Alexander Patterson.
The events transpired early October and have since been investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. During the investigation it was found the vice principal, Tena Janeice Lynn was present during the paddling.
The investigation began on October 10 with the help of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and the Department of Children Services.
Both Patterson and Lynn were arrested Tuesday, November 7. Patterson faces simple assault charges and is being held in the Jackson County jail on a $2,500 bond. Lynn faces a criminal responsibility of assault charge and is being held on a $1,500 bond.
