Jackson County Schools have announced the appointment of new principals for Jackson County High School and Jackson County Middle School, effective for the upcoming school year.
Brandon Cross has been named the new principal of Jackson County High School (JCHS). Cross, who lives in the Hilham area of Overton County with his wife, Holly, and their three daughters, expressed his honor and excitement to work with the JCHS community.
Cross brings a wealth of experience to the role. He previously worked as a math teacher at JCHS for seven years before transferring to Overton County. In Overton County, he served as a math teacher at Livingston Academy, principal at A.H. Roberts Elementary, and assistant principal at Livingston Academy. He stated he is looking forward to returning to Jackson County and making the upcoming year a “great one for everyone at JCHS.”
Amanda Harris will take the helm as the new principal of Jackson County Middle School (JCMS). Harris, a resident of the Big Bottom community with her husband, Paul, and their three children, expressed her honor in being chosen for the position.
Harris is a long-standing educator within the Jackson County school district, having served for 24 years. She looks forward to working with the community, students, families, faculty, and staff to ensure JCMS is successful in the upcoming school year.
