In her new role, McMenamin will oversee a team of 10 employees and provide legal assistance to low-income and vulnerable residents across 10 counties in Middle Tennessee, including Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Van Buren, and White. The Cookeville office is located at 9 South Jefferson Avenue, Suite 102.
McMenamin brings 15 years of experience in the nonprofit legal sector, with a strong focus on housing issues. Previously, she was the housing supervising attorney for the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project in Buffalo, New York, where she helped tenants facing eviction. She also recruited and trained over 50 volunteers and helped create the Tenant Help NY website.
