Posted

Do you feel like you are in a Where’s Waldo book when searching for ancestors? Attend The Upper Cumberland Family History and Genealogy Festival in Historic Granville on Saturday, July 27, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for clues and assistance in opening the door to your past.

The speakers and representatives from genealogical and historical groups, county archives and history museums will share insightful tidbits for individuals beginning to delve into family research and for those who are ready for a deeper dive. Exhibitors from a wide range of sources will be in the Genealogy Room of the Granville Museum and in the Event Center to help in discovering the branches of your family tree.

Sue Maggart Petty will be honored for her devotion to genealogy research. Her extensive collection will be shared by her son, Mike Maggart.

Visitors will have an opportunity to step back in time and experience the rich history of Historic Granville’s eight museums, historic sites, and Pioneer Village. History buffs, individuals with a passion for sharing family history, or those who want to learn more about the region and the people of the area are invited to attend.
