Volunteer Fire Department Looks to Share ‘Blessings’

Posted

A rural fire department is looking to share blessings with their community members who suffer significant losses as a result of a structure fire.

Flynns Lick Volunteer Fire Department is asking for donations for their “Blessing Bags.” According to representatives of the department, these bags will be kept on their fire trucks and given to families when they are misplaced during house fires. Firefighters are seeking donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, travel bottles of personal hygiene items, discount cards and gift cards to local restaurants, grocery stores and clothing stores.

The goal is to provide blessing bags to help with a fire victim’s immediate needs.

“Any donation is greatly appreciated. It is an honor to help our community and we hope to have enough participation so that we can share the ‘Blessing Bags’ with other local fire departments as well,” Flynns Lick VFD representatives noted.
